How can I add money to my Hive KiwiSaver Scheme account?

Voluntary contributions are payments you make yourself, for whatever amount suits you. If you’re employed, they’re a way to add a bit extra on top of what comes out of your pay. If you’re self-employed or not in paid work right now, they’re how you keep building your KiwiSaver savings.

It might be a lump sum from a bonus or tax refund, or a small regular top-up that quietly does its thing in the background.

Add Hive as a bill payee

The easiest way is to add Hive KiwiSaver Scheme as a bill payee in your internet banking. You only need to set it up once.

  1. Log in to your internet banking.
  2. Go to payments and add a new payee.
  3. Search for Hive KiwiSaver Scheme.
  4. Make a payment and use your Hive membership number or IRD number as the reference.

Once it’s saved, topping up is just a few taps. You can also schedule a regular automatic payment so it happens without you thinking about it.
